And, the original cast is returning.
With the film’s success in the box office despite its television adaptation that got cancelled, the sequel to this apocalyptic zombie movie is now in the works and the cast is coming back.
Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Woody Harrelson will be reprising their roles as this ragtag bunch surviving in zombie-ridden America. Also returning to the helms is director Ruben Fleischer with a script from the original Zombieland writers, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
The first movie follows Columbus (Eisenberg) as he makes his way from his college dorm in Texas to his home in Columbus, Ohio to see if his parents are still alive. Through his journey, he meets Tallahassee (Harrelson) and then, later on, Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin). Together they form an unlikely band of misfits trying to survive a zombie apocalypse with a little help from Columbus’ 33 rules.
The sequel is set to start filming in January 2019 and is slated for an October 11, 2019 theatrical release, just in time for the movie’s 10th anniversary.
