Will Smith expressed about the death of his former character, Captain Steven Hiller.
We already know that Will Smith won’t be in Independence Day: Resurgence, (the sequel to his Sci-fi 1996 hit) because his character was killed off before the events happening in the sequel. Director Roland Emmerich offered a new explanation back in June, other than calling Smith too expensive in 2013. Also the movie’s website confirmed his death.
Just recently, Will Smith expressed about the death of his former character, Captain Steven Hiller, in Yahoo Movies.
“I was working on Suicide Squad during that time,” he said, referring to the film’s production. “[Independence Day director] Roland [Emmerich] and I had talked about it. The trailer looks really cool. I’m going to be sitting around with tears in my eyes when that one comes out… It was terrible when I found out my character died.”
Will wanted to steer away from Sci-Fi films after his bomb “After Earth” and even though he isn’t in Resurgence, his present line-up of his new movies are pretty good. Hello, Suicide Squad!
