With Jada Pinkett-Smith making waves for her work in WB’s Gotham and her husband, Will Smith, to possibly be in DC’s ‘Suicide Squad’, Warner Bros are now eyeing their son, Jaden Smith for their digital series adaptation of the comic book ‘Static Shock’.
Warner Bros’s Blue Ribbon Content will produce the live-action series with Reginald Hudlin. The man also produced ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Boondocks’.
Jaden Smith rose to fame after his rendition of the main character in “The Karate Kid” 2010 reboot. His star power somehow fizzled after starring in the poorly received sci-fi ‘After Earth’, co-starring with his father.
The boy definitely bears a resemblance to the comic and eventual cartoon character, Virgil Hawkins (a.k.a. Static). However, do fans agree with him taking the title role?
