SO WHAT WAS THE 0.1 PERCENT?
Tommy Wiseau, the star and the man behind “The Room, only approves “The Disaster Artist” 99.9%.
The trailer of The Disaster Artist already has 5 million views on youtube. The movie garnered critical acclaim last March at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
The Disaster Artist is the movie adaptation of Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell’s book of the same name. The book is about Sestero’s experiences on the set of “The Room”, the film nicknamed as “the Citizen Kane of bad movies”. And his odd friendship with the peculiar and inept actor/filmmaker Tommy Wiseau.
However, it was the reaction of the star and director of The Room he is worried of.
“So, Tommy, what did you think of the movie?’ And he said, ‘I approve 99.9 percent.’ And we were like, ‘What was the 0.1 percent? He said, ‘I think the lighting, in the beginning, a little off.’ [Laughs] I told Brandon [Trost, The Disaster Artist‘s cinematographer]. He was like, Yeah, maybe we should watch The Room, get some lighting pointers!”
New Line Cinema’s The Disaster Artist is set to premiere on Dec. 1, 2017. It stars James Franco, Dave Franco and Seth Rogen. Directed by James Franco.
