A sci-fi space wasteland under the hot Australian sun, “the scrappers”, cool Mjolnir t-shirts, the Ragnarok emblem and a Planet Hulk character are some of the reveals in a Facebook Live session by Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi.
Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi was doing a Facebook Live session of the movie’s last day of shooting. While showing us guys for a walk in their set, Waititi also introduced his cast and crew whom he regards as his new-found friends.
After 84 days of shooting the film, as stated by Waititi, one of 2017’s most anticipated movies has wrapped and the director couldn’t be any happier. Stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are also featured in the live session. Hemsworth even jokes that this was one of the terrible experiences of his life. He then adds, “but now that we’ve gotten rid of you (Taika Waititi), it should be alright.” Waititi then replied, “Well, this is my last day. I’m getting fired after this Facebook thing.” Hemsworth kicks in to his comedic side and jokes about everybody getting fired and having the whole movie straight to a single copy VHS with rentals for about 50 bucks. Thompson, who is still wearing her Valkyrie makeup, joins in the fun and suggests that people should join altogether to watch the movie.
Aside from the quips, the video also showed cool Thor: Ragnarok merchandise like Mjolnir shirts worn by some of the crew and the director himself, and a Ragnarok cap as worn by Producer Brad Winderbaum. At the 3:15 mark, you’ll hear Waititi introduce Steve who’ll be playing a character called Miek of the insectoid race Natives. Miek was forced to be a gladiator with The Hulk in Planet Hulk, Earth-616 universe.
Before signing off, Hemsworth, Waititi and Thompson bid their goodbyes and invited the fans to watch the film when it’s released “in VHS in 2025″.
Thor: Ragnarok is slated to hit the big screen next November 3rd.
