Shane Black’s take on the Predator franchise takes the viewers to the suburbs and stars Room‘s Jacob Tremblay and Narcos‘ Boyd Holbrook.
The Predator film series started out in the jungles of Mexico in John McTiernan’s 1987 movie and reached the depths of outer space in Nimród Antal’s version entitled Predators (2010).
Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Monster Squad), who appeared as a supporting role in the original, directed and co-wrote this sequel with Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad, RoboCop 3).
The Predator is set in the present day with the titular character donning an upgraded set of armor.
Here is the film’s official synopsis:
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
The Predator hits theaters this 14th of September.
