Two stand-alone Star Wars films already have Godzilla and Chronicle directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank. But, it seems Disney and Lucasfilm isn’t done with that. With J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII, the franchise is gearing up full force with another director on board for Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Looper helmer and penman Rian Johnson is set to direct Star Wars: Episode VIII with Ram Bergman producing. Johnson has not publicly commented about this recent engagement but, he did tweet a scene from The Right Stuff, which sort of implies how he feels right now.
