Peyton Reed is in negotiations to be back returning to direct the Ant Man sequel titled Ant-Man and the Wasp. The second movie will feature Janet Van Dyne (Hope Van Dyne’s mother) a.k.a. The Wasp in rumored flashbacks.
The movie was moved up from July 6, 2018, to a Feb. 16, 2018 premiere, a part of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
Reed did a good job with the first film, raking $178 million in domestic revenues and a worldwide total of $455 million. Not bad for a guy who only directs romantic comedies until Ant-Man came along. He just completed the TV comedy film Ellen More or Less.
Meanwhile there are still no updates about the writers but it seems probable that Reed will also take the role.
