The remake of the screen adaptation of Stephen King‘s 1983 thriller eyes Jason Clarke as Louis Creed.
The first screen adaptation was back in 1989 with Mary Lambert (The Blacklist) at the helm. This time, Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes) will be directing and Jason Clarke is in talks to play Louis Creed, the grieving father who took life and death into his own hands. Clarke will be adding this under his acting belt along with Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Terminator Genisys to name a few.
Pet Sematary is about Louis Creed and his family who just moved to a town in a large house near an old cemetery. There he discovers that at the far end of the cemetery is an ancient burial ground where animals buried there have come back to life. A grave accident happens that tests Louis’ sanity, and provokes his determination to dominate death and change the workings of fate despite their neighbor Jud’s warning, “The person you put up there ain’t the person that comes back. It might look like that person, but it ain’t that person, because whatever lives on the ground beyond the Pet Sematary ain’t human at all.”
