The Inside Llewyn Davis star’s casting announcement to be in the Star Wars Saga is a pleasant surprise to us and to Isaac himself telling The Sunday Times Culture, “It still seems hard to believe. Star Wars is a huge part of my family.” He adds that he could not be more excited to be a part of Star Wars: Episode VII.
To specify how big of an impact Star Wars is to his family, the Sucker Punch actor admits about…
“Collecting toys, throwing themed parties. We had a big one for Return of the Jedi. I came as a gonk droid.”
As for the director, Isaac shares nothing but praises for him. He describes Abrams as having the capacity to make good stories for having to put a lot of heart into them.
“He makes really good stories. He puts a lot of heart into them. They don’t feel like they’re just exploitive. I think there are a lot of different films you can be surprised by, and that have the element of the unknown and I think it is very important. It’s very important. That’s why I do understand some secrecy with certain films, not wanting to let it out.” -Oscar Isaac
Here’s hoping we’ll be hearing more from Oscar Isaac as he ventures to the galaxy far, far away. Star Wars: Episode VII is set to be available in theaters on December 18, 2015.
