From portraying Batman’s love interest back in 1995, Nicole Kidman is in talks to return to the DC Expanded Universe for James Wan’s Aquaman.
THR reports that Kidman is in early negotiations to play Aquaman’s mother Atlanna. Once negotiations are settled, Kidman joins Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as scientist Dr. Vulko and Patrick Wilson as the villain Orm.
Atlanna is described as to having long blonde hair to which the Atlanteans are very much wary of. She is a scientist who invented a serum that enables one to breathe underwater and making her functionally immortal (as taken from dc.wikia.com).
Aside from Kidman, another actor also in talks to join Aquaman is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Abdul-Mateen, whom you’ll be seeing in upcoming movie Baywatch, is also being eyed to portray Black Manta.
Plot details for the telepathic ruler of the Earth’s oceans’ feature film are still murky. And, we wouldn’t have to wait for October 5, 2018 to come and see Momoa as Aquaman as Justice League will hit theaters on November 2017.
