“It’s obviously a high school reference…” said the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Chairman, Tom Rothman of the new Spider Man.
Spider Man Homecoming
During Sony’s CinemaCon at Caesar’s Palace, Tom Rothman and the newest (and youngest) Spider-Man, Tom Holland, revealed the official title of the new Spider-Man movie.
The film is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2017. The solo Spider-Man film will be “completely integrated into the Marvel cinematic universe despite being partially owned by Sony.” Co-starring Holland are Zendaya Coleman and Marisa Tomei.
Homecoming has a high-school ring to it.
“It’s obviously a high school reference and shows Peter Parker’s enduring conflict — saving the world and getting your homework done,” Rothman explained at CinemaCon. “Saving the world and getting your algebra homework done at the same time.”
“Peter (Parker) is trying to find his way home,” Tom Holland also adds.
