Is Krang in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows? We think so.
Michael Bay may be the butt of jokes in Hollywood for his “more-boom-no-story” films, however he always rakes the millions. He has tried to change when he made the 2013 crime-dramedy Pain and Gain and then the war drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which is based on true events. For this movie, Rolling Stone made a lengthy piece about his present career. And while Josh Eells, the article writer, was in his office observing the director, Bay may or may not accidentally mentioned a new character while in a video/phone conversation.
Pablo Helman, a visual-effects supervisor who worked on the Star Wars prequels, appears onscreen and shows Bay the latest version of Krang, a new-to-the-movies villain who is, essentially, a disembodied brain inside a giant robot. “So we’ve eliminated the tentacles,” Helman explains. “Is it too monster-ish?”
“He could have some tentacles,” says Bay. “I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.”
Hope we’ll get a sneak peek of the original TMNT villain soon.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows premieres in June 3, 2016.
