At last, we get an update for Star Wars: Episode IX before it starts filming by the end of July and it’s about a new cast addition.
Possibly joining what might be 2019’s highly anticipated sci-fi flick is The Americans star Keri Russell. Variety reports that Russell is in early talks to reunite with J.J. Abrams after having to work with the director in Mission: Impossible III and the TV series Felicity, which Abrams co-created. There isn’t that much information about the character yet, but if chosen, Russell will get to show her fighting skills because of the role calling for action-heavy fight scenes. Russell isn’t new to the sci-fi genre with films such as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Dark Skies under her acting belt.
There hasn’t been much out there about Star Wars: Episode IX except that its working title is Black Diamond and that stars Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux) and Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix) will be reprising their roles.
Stay tuned for more Star Wars: Episode IX updates before it hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
