To tell the last chapter of their story, it felt like there was a chance to do it in a way where we could go beyond, and do better than we did in Seven.”
There are now updates that JJ Abrams have already pitched his idea for Star Wars: Episode IX to Disney’s Bob Iger and his associates. It already has a working title as well, ‘Black Diamond’. Excuse me while I try to brainstorm as to what that means. However, Black Diamonds are rare, less precious and they are diamonds that are turned black.
JJ Abrams is co-writing the eight episode with a new collaborator, Chris Terrio. Yes the guy who wrote Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Excuse me while I nibble my fingernails for a bit.
Abrams said earlier in an interview about returning to direct Episode IX in what was supposed to be Colin Trevorrow’s movie, “I had no intention to return. But when the opportunity presented itself to finish a story that we had begun with these new characters, to tell the last chapter of their story, it felt like there was a chance to do it in a way where we could go beyond, and do better than we did in Seven.”
“I think what’s fantastic is it feels like it’s coming back full circle,” Boyega said. “I don’t know where Finn’s going, I don’t know where Rey is going, but definitely I feel this is the war to end all wars in this movie. I’m interested to know how he will handle that.”
“Just as a fan I’m excited for J.J. to do ‘IX’ because he did such a good job on ‘VII,’” Gleeson added. “So I’ll look forward to seeing it or being in it, depending on whichever it is. There ya go, talk about hedging your bets!”
Star Wars: Episode IX will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm. Episode IX has a release date of December 20, 2019 and we really can’t wait.
