Scarlet Johansson stars in the live action adaptation of the popular manga series, Ghost in the Shell.
Paramount has just released teaser trailers of the highly anticipated and controversy-ridden movie which also features Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, and Michael Pitt. Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).
The 5 teasers don’t give out any plot details and focuses on the obscurity that perpetuates in the series. Teaser #1 shows a weird looking geisha you would want to come across with in the hallway. The second teaser gives a glimpse of Scarlet Johansson as the cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi unplugging herself after a robotic sleep. Clip number 3 features Major Kusanagi touching a woman’s face and being asked what she is. The 4th shows Aramaki (Takeshi Kitano) using his revolver. The fifth clip gives us a look at Major finding herself in the midst of what seems to be a circle of monks with a voice-over saying, “This is just the beginning.”
Ghost in the Shell will arrive in theaters on March 31, 2017.
