Patton Oswalt considers the dinner as a detente. Easing any whatever tensions between the two actors. It was, of course, a success.
An older actor loses a beloved role only to see it being given to a new younger thespian is an old movie plot played a few times. That happens a lot of times in Hollywood. We can only imagine the hurt and maybe some animosity between the two actors. However, we don’t seem to see that when Patton Oswalt had dinner with the original Hellboy Rob Perlman and the new upcoming Hellboy David Harbour.

Not since Bill Clinton, Menachem Begin, and Anwar Sadat has there been such an epic summit yelding such a little result! Apparently Patton Oswalt aka balvenieboy thought it was a good idea to host @DavidKHarbour and yours truly for a detente dinner. The result: i gained 3 pounds and ruined my liver. Meanwhile, good luck kid! Signed, the babe.
I’d follow these two into the gates of hell… https://t.co/RSNQ77PftB

Ron Perlman had played Hellboy for Guillermo del Toro in Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). David Harbour of Stranger Things fame will play the role this time in Neil Marshall‘s Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.
