Marvel’s Infinity Saga that took 11 years and 22 movies is going to end as Avengers: Endgame hits theaters worldwide this week. With the MCU’s massive fan base and huge anticipation on how the beloved saga will end, there is no doubt Endgame is going to do extremely well in the box office.
Variety reports that Endgame will shatter the following records over the weekend:
Biggest China opening day – On April 24th, the finale has set the record when it hit $107.2 million for the biggest opening day and biggest single day in Chinese history.
International record breaker – Internationally, Endgame became the biggest single-day performer in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Korea (by number of admissions), the U.K., Brazil, Egypt, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Trinidad, Uruguay, Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.
Thursday preview record – In US domestic box office, Endgame beat 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($57 million) when it set a record for top Thursday preview gross at $60 million.
Domestic weekend record – Disney forecasts that Avengers: Endgame would finish the domestic opening weekend at about $300 million beating its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War ($257.7 million).
Most screens for one film – 4,662 North American locations are currently showing Endgame in theaters.
