A strange planet that houses a face hugger is far from being called home in new teaser and TV spots of Ridley Scott‘s Alien: Covenant.
John Denver’s “Take Me Home” is something you wouldn’t directly associate with the engineer’s home planet. The iconic song is ironic to what the remote planet has in store for our new residents. One would definitely be wishing to go back to the place where I belong.
The teaser above shows us Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride‘s characters being hunted by a hungry Xenomorph. Plus, we get to see the famous face hugger jump out of what it seems to be its nest and aiming towards a horrified Billy Crudup. The clip also teases Dr. Shaw’s (Noomi Rapace) character as we see her dogtag dangling in an undisclosed location.
Aside from the teaser, three TV spots are shown during the season finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead. The promos, which are appropriately titled as Run, Pray and Hide, give us an introduction to the Covenant team and their large scale colonization mission that turns morbidly awry.
Here is the Alien: Covenant’s official synopsis:
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Alien: Covenant hits theaters this 19th of May 2017.
