The official trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter just premiered in New York Comic-Con and it has guns, mutant hordes and possible spoilers.
The clip features Alice and her trip back to Racoon City, to where it all started 10 years ago. Alice (Milla Jovovich) narrates the following lines with a flashback: “My name is Alice and this is my story- the end of my story. Ten years ago in Racoon City, there was an outbreak. It spread across the world within days.” Alice, humankind’s ultimate weapon and last hope, is seen fighting a winged UMBRELLA creature before reuniting with her old nemesis, Dr. Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen). Dr. Isaacs, who was last seen in the 3rd installment Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), also shares screen time with Alice in a hallway of deadly lasers.
Characters from past installments are also returning. Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), Christian (William Levy), Abigail (Ruby Rose), Doc (Eoin Macken), Cobalt (Rola), Michael (Fraser James) and Commander Lee (Lee Joon-gi) will once again cross paths with Alice as the franchise comes full circle and end at the top-secret genetic research facility, The Hive. Watch the trailer below.
(Warning, possible spoilers ahead.) Although the gang’s together again, there is that seemingly inevitable fate that not all of them would reach the end alive. At the 2:07 mark, you can see a glimpse of what looks to be a zombified Christian (William Levy) and a desperate Claire trapped in a bloody glass cube.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which opens in theaters on January 27, 2017, is the last installment of the franchise and follows our heroine right after the events of Resident Evil: Retribution.
