Would it be less exciting that Marvel will be missing?
Both Marvel and DC graced Comic Con’s biggest and famous convention hall in SDCC last year. This time though, the latter will be using it alone for this year’s convention.
DC is taking the chance to occupy Hall H for their 2016 movies: ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Suicide Squad’. And they will also hold presentations for ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Justice League Part One’ which both are scheduled to be released on 2017.
In spite Marvel getting busy with their projects, they just have nothing new to show this year. The last time they skipped was back in 2011.
Back in 2009, they got the Hall H excited for Iron Man 2, with Robert Downey Jr. playing his role on stage. In 2010, the cast of Avengers took over. In 2012, Guardians of the Galaxy was announced, Iron Man 3 trailer was revealed and the crowd was given an ‘Ant-Man’ exclusive footage treat. Tom Hiddleston made a spectacle by playing as his mischievous role Loki in 2013 to promote Thor 2. And finally, last year, they showed another Ant-Man footage but disappointed the fans who were hoping some Doctor Strange.
Guess we’ll have to wait for 2016 Comic Con, which is gonna be a great time for them to announce the Spider-Man reboot and the new installment of the Avengers by the Russo brothers.
