Here’s the thing about Simon Pegg, when he keeps secrets about the films that he is doing or rumored to be doing, he likes to tease about them. Uttering implications that he may be in them, or in the Star Trek case, another famous actor, or not. He really leaves fans wondering.
For now, it’s the films that he is collaborating with his good friend/director J.J. Abrams, and Star Wars: Episode VII is the newest project under the filmmaker’s helm.
So Simon Pegg, once again, played with us on whether or not he will be in the anticipated, high expectations-filled film.
However, it was not Pegg that started it but it was his Star Trek co-star Benedict Cumberbatch who implied Pegg as the newest addition in the film. It came to this when he was asked if there is a chance he may nab a role in the Star Wars franchise. He answered maybe but casually name dropped Pegg as a frequent in Abram’s films and implied that he may hire the actor again.
Now, Vulture interviewed Pegg to talk about this. The actor was smiling, probably in his coy way, and stated that Abrams uses him for different roles and that he is such a big fan of Star Wars. However, he wouldn’t like the idea of his face in the film and he doesn’t want people to go “oh, there’s Simon Pegg’s face” since the film is cleverly cast with amazing unknown actors.
The interviewer then wanted to make it clear with him if either or not he will be in the movie. And as expected, Pegg was cagey by not answering the question with a yes or no, instead just mentioned having visited the set and loving it.
What do you think? Will he be in the film or not? We have our own thoughts and we think that his choice of words in the interview are the clues.
